10 Most Beautiful Things To Do In Wyoming With Stunning Natural Scenery

Not complete if you go to the United States without visiting Wyoming, there are a lot of things to do in this one of the U.S. states. Because Wyoming is a state in the mountainous region, then we will find stunning natural scenery. Wyoming is the 10th most extensive, but the least populous and the second least densely populated of the 50 United States. The western two thirds of the state is covered mostly with the mountain ranges and rangelands in the foothills of the Eastern Rocky Mountains, while the eastern third of the state is high elevation prairie known as the High Plains.

Main popular Wyoming tourist attractions such as, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Devils Tower National Monument, Independence Rock and Fossil Butte National Monument. Each year Yellowstone National Park, the world's first national park, receives three million visitors. Actually there are more than 40 amazing Wyoming attractions with beautiful natural scenery, but below we take 10 among them.


1. Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park , widely held to be the first national park in the world, is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser, one of the most popular features in the park. It has many types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion.
Yellowstone National Park spans an area of 3,468.4 square miles (8,983 km2), comprising lakes, canyons, rivers and mountain ranges. Yellowstone Lake is one of the largest high-altitude lakes in North America and is centered over the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest supervolcano on the continent. The caldera is considered an active volcano. It has erupted with tremendous force several times in the last two million years. Half of the world's geothermal features are in Yellowstone, fueled by this ongoing volcanism. Lava flows and rocks from volcanic eruptions cover most of the land area of Yellowstone. The park is the centerpiece of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, the largest remaining nearly-intact ecosystem in the Earth's northern temperate zone.


2. Grand Teton National Park
Grand Teton National Park is an almost pristine ecosystem and the same species of flora and fauna that have existed since prehistoric times can still be found there. More than 1,000 species of vascular plants, dozens of species of mammals, 300 species of birds, more than a dozen fish species and a few species of reptiles and amphibians exist. Due to various changes in the ecosystem, some of them human-induced, efforts have been made to provide enhanced protection to some species of native fish and the increasingly threatened whitebark pine.
Grand Teton National Park is a popular destination for mountaineering, hiking, fishing and other forms of recreation. There are more than 1,000 drive-in campsites and over 200 miles (320 km) of hiking trails that provide access to backcountry camping areas. Noted for world-renowned trout fishing, the park is one of the few places to catch Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat trout. Grand Teton has several National Park Service-run visitor centers, and privately operated concessions for motels, lodges, gas stations and marinas.


3. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a ski resort in Teton Village, located 12 miles (19 km) northwest of Jackson and due south of Grand Teton National Park in Teton County. Jackson Hole is known in the U.S. for its relatively steep terrain and its vertical drop is one of North America's highest, at 1,262 metres (4,140 ft).
Jackson Hole has become the home to many of the world's best free skiers as the terrain is considered to be some of the most challenging in North America. In addition to the skiable terrain inbounds, there is an even larger area to be explored off-piste (out of bounds). These areas are accessed through marked gates by expert skiers/boarders who are equipped with avalanche safety gear. The terrain has not only attracted the top skiers in the world but also one of the leading ski film companies, Teton Gravity Research. Jackson Hole is home to one of the most well known expert ski runs in the world, Corbet's Couloir.


4. Old Faithful
Old Faithful is a cone geyser located in Yellowstone National Park, it is also known as one of the most predictable geographical features on Earth, erupting almost every 91 minutes. The geyser, as well as the nearby Old Faithful Inn, is part of the Old Faithful Historic District.


5. Snow King Resort
Snow King Mountain is a ski area and resort hotel in Jackson, Wyoming. "The King" is Jackson's original 1936 ski hill, located on the southeast edge of the city. It was the first ski area in the state of Wyoming. Locals sometimes refer to Snow King as "The Town Hill." The ski area offers three-hour and night skiing. Snow King's lift tickets are cheaper than the two nearby resorts, Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee, which opened in 1965 and 1969, respectively. Snow King offers a full-day lift ticket in 2012 for $42; Jackson Hole's full day ticket is $95.


6. Buffalo Bill Historical Center
Buffalo Bill Center of the West is a complex of five museums and a research library displaying artifacts and art of the American West located in Cody,the Buffalo Bill Center of the West is the oldest and most comprehensive museum of the West. It has been described by The New York Times as "among the nation's most remarkable museums." Since 2008, the Center of the West has been part of the Smithsonian Affiliations program.[2] As an Affiliate collaborator, with a strong desire to help share America's artistic and historic heritage, the BBHC has hosted Smithsonian artifacts, and has recently loaned some of the their vast collections to a Smithsonian exhibition in Washington, D.C.


7. Pikes Peak
Pikes Peak is a mountain in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains within Pike National Forest. At 14,115 feet (4,302 m), it is one of Colorado's 54 fourteeners, mountains that rise more than 14,000 feet (4,300 m) above mean sea level, and rises 8,400 feet (2,600 m) above the city of Colorado Springs. Pikes Peak is a designated National Historic Landmark.


8. Mystic Falls
Mystic Falls is a 70-foot (21 m) cascade type waterfall on the Little Firehole River, a tributary of the Firehole River. Originally named Little Firehole Falls by members of the 1872 Hayden Geologic Survey, the name was changed to Mystic Falls by members of the Arnold Hague Geological Survey in 1885 for unknown reasons. Mystic Falls is reached via the 1.2 miles (1.9 km) Mystic Falls Trail which starts at Biscuit Basin in the Upper Geyser Basin.


9. Old Trail Town
Old Trail Town is a collection of historic western buildings and artifacts, dating from 1879—1901, located off the Yellowstone Highway in the resort city of Cody, the seat of Park County in northwestern Wyoming. Much of the collection was derived from within 150 miles of Cody, the town that Buffalo Bill and his associates surveyed and established in 1895.Old Trail Town is open from May 15 until September 30. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $4 for children 6-12. The Museum of the Old West, a separate entity within Old Trail Town established in 1971 as a 501(C)(3) Not for Profit Corporation by Bob Edgar and Frances Beldon, is seeking to purchase and administer Old Trail Town provided the financing can be secured.


10. Hot Springs State Park
Hot Springs State Park is a park in Thermopolis, Wyoming famous for its hot springs. It was Wyoming's first state park.The park also includes bison (in a managed herd), a suspension foot bridge across the Big Horn River, the State Bath House, picnic shelters, primitive boat ramp, flower gardens, a statue made of naturally forming travertine (calcium carbonate) caused by a flowing mineral hot spring, and the petroglyph site at Legend Rock (some 25 miles from the main park).
