List Of Interesting Things To Do In Sheffield

Sheffield is a city and metropolitan districts in South Yorkshire, England, there are various things to do when you visit there. Start from historical buildings to natural scenery. According to wikipedia, there are 5 main Sheffield tourist attractions that you can visit, such as, St. Paul's Tower, The University of Sheffield Arts Tower, Wheel of Sheffield and Sheffield Town Hall, Sheffield station and Sheaf Square, Meadowhall shopping centre. In addition to those 5 places, there are also another fun things places to visit such as Kelham Island Museum, Weston Park Museum, Sheffield Cathedral, Stanage Edge, Peak Cavern and many more. Best time to visit Sheffield is spring or summer season (June to September). Here we are, some fun places to visit while at Sheffield.

1. Sheffield Cathedral
Sheffield Cathedral (The Cathedral Church of St Peter and St Paul, Sheffield) is the cathedral church for the Church of England diocese of Sheffield, England. Originally a parish church, it was elevated to cathedral status when the diocese was created in 1914. Sheffield Cathedral is one of five Grade I listed buildings in the city, along with Town Hall, Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, and the parish churches at Ecclesfield and Bradfield. It is located in the city centre on Church Street and served by Sheffield Supertram's Cathedral stop.




2. St Paul's Tower and St Paul's View
St Paul's Tower is the tallest building in Sheffield when completed in August 2010, at 101 metres (331 ft), overtaking the Arts Tower by a significant margin. The tower and its smaller neighbour provides private apartments for city centre living, with retail on the ground-floor of the tower, facing Arundel Gate and restaurants on the upper-ground floor of St Paul's View, facing St Paul's Place. It fronts onto two new squares, Millennium Square and St Paul's Place, part of a new bar and restaurant district. The towers and associated squares form part of the St Paul's Place development, which also includes three other office blocks, a multi-storey car park, and faces onto Hallam Square, less than 100 metres (330 ft) from Sheffield railway station. They represent just one element of the wider regeneration of the area around Sheffield Town Hall, known as the Heart of the City Project.


3.Sheffield Winter Garden
Sheffield Winter Garden in the city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire is one of the largest temperate glasshouses to be built in the UK during the last hundred years, and the largest urban glasshouse anywhere in Europe. It is home to more than 2,000 plants from all around the world. It was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 22 May 2003.



4. Sheffield station
Sheffield station, formerly Pond Street and later Sheffield Midland, is a railway station and tram stop in Sheffield, England, and is the busiest station in South Yorkshire. Adjacent is Sheffield station/Sheffield Hallam University Sheffield Supertram stop. In 2010–11, the station was the 35th-busiest in the UK, and the 11th-busiest outside London.

5. Wheel of Sheffield
The Wheel of Sheffield was a 60 metres (197 ft) tall transportable Ferris wheel installation on Fargate, by the Town Hall, in Sheffield, England. It was opened on 20 July 2009, and was intended to remain until January 2010. However, planning permission was sought for a further year of operation, and permission was granted for it to remain until January 2011.
