1. Kings Park
Kings Park is a 4.06-square-kilometre (1,003-acre) park located on the western edge of the central business district in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. The park is a mixture of grassed parkland, botanical gardens and natural bushland on Mount Eliza with two thirds of the grounds conserved as native bushland. With panoramic views of the Swan River and Darling Range, it is home to over 300 native plant varieties and 80 bird species. It overlooks the city as well as Perth Water and Melville Water on the Swan River.



2. Shoalwater Islands Marine Park
Shoalwater Islands Marine Park is located in Western Australia and stretches from the northern point of the Garden Island Causeway to the southern point of Becher Point, an area of 6540 ha. It is located offshore from the suburban locality of Shoalwater. Several small limestone islands are located within the boundaries of the park, including Penguin Island and Seal Island.


3. Fremantle Arts Centre
Fremantle Arts Centre is a multi-arts organisation, offering a program of exhibitions, residencies, art courses and music in a historic building in the heart of Fremantle, Western Australia. Fremantle Arts Centre offers a varied program of exhibitions and events, often attracting audiences of 3000 or more to outdoor concerts in summer. The building was built using convict labour between 1861 and 1868 and was used as a psychiatric hospital, initially called the Fremantle Lunatic Asylum, and later known as the Asylum for the Criminally Insane. It is located opposite the Fremantle Leisure and Aquatic Centre.


4. Serpentine National Park
Serpentine National Park is a national park in Western Australia (Australia), located on the Darling Scarp, approximately 50 km southeast of Perth. The park's main feature, and most popular tourist destination, is Serpentine Falls, a series of waterfalls in the upper reaches of Serpentine River. Other attractions include Serpentine Dam and the smaller Pipehead Dam.


5. Lesmurdie Falls National Park
Lesmurdie Falls National Park is a national park in Western Australia (Australia), 22 km east of Perth.It is located on the western edge of the Darling Scarp and has commanding views of the Swan Coastal Plain, the city of Perth and surrounding suburbs. The park contains the 50-metre (164 ft) Lesmurdie Falls, formed by Lesmurdie Brook emptying over the Scarp, and the surrounding riparian and heath vegetation. Wandoo, Jarrah and Marri trees can all be found within the park. The illusion of a gravity hill exists near the carpark on Palm Terrace.


6. Walyunga National Park
Walyunga National Park is a national park in Western Australia (Australia), 35 km northeast of Perth along the Great Northern Highway. The park is situated just behind the Darling Scarp in the Darling Range spread over a steeply sided valley. The Swan-Avon River and the Eastern Railway run through the park and the Avon Descent passes through a set of rapids along this section. The area is dominated by granite outcrops along with smaller dolerite areas, the tops of hills are capped with laterite.


7. Birdworld
Birdworld is one of Western Australia's largest bird parks and dealerships supplying birds all across Australia. It lies east of the city of Perth, Western Australia, close to the airport. Birdworld is set on an acre of park land and has over 120 display cages and flight aviaries, housing some 2000 birds in a natural environment. There are some 900 different species of birds, the majority of which are Australian native parrots, cockatoos, lorikeets, quail, pigeons and doves. There is also an extensive range of non Australian birds from most regions of the world. One of the more spectacular sights is the large free flight aviary complex with a large collection of birds able to enjoy significant free flying at all times of the day.


8. Heirisson Island
Heirisson Island (Matagarup) is an island in the Swan River in Western Australia at the eastern end of Perth Water, between the suburbs of East Perth and Victoria Park. It occupies an area of 285,600 m2 (3,074,000 sq ft), and is connected to the two foreshores by The Causeway. In recent years a colony of Western Grey Kangaroos have been introduced onto the island.



9. Carnac Island
Carnac Island is home to Australian Sea Lions, Bottlenose Dolphins and a large range of marine bird life. It is particularly noted for the abundance of snakes, particularly Tiger snakes, which live there. For this reason, very few people venture there. There is no permanent fresh water, providing a challenge for the animals that live there. The origins of the Tiger snake colony has attracted significant debate and research into how that species has adapted to a harsh island habitat. Carnac Island is a 19 hectares (47 acres), A Class, island nature reserve about 10 km (6.2 mi) south-west of Fremantle in Western Australia.


10. Marmion Marine Park
The Marmion Marine Park is a protected area along and off the coast of northern Perth, Western Australia. In 1987, this park was declared the first marine park in Western Australia. The park covers an area of 10,500 ha, from Trigg Island in the south to Burns Beach in the north. Limestone reefs run parallel to the coastline and contain underwater limestone platforms and caves that hide many species of tropical fish. Several other animals visit this area regularly, including the Australian Sea Lion and the Bottlenose Dolphin. Humpback Whales frequent the waters in May on their journey north. When they return between September and November, they are in breeding, making them easier to see by tourists.
